Library Board Meeting

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Pitkin County Library Board of Trustees on January 15, 2014.  The meeting was called to order at 12:05.

Roll call:  Trustees  present:  Barbara Reid, Judy Wrigley, John Wilkinson, Barbara Smith, and Judi Harris.  Jim Moran and Austine Stitt were not present.  Librarian Kathy Chandler and John Keleher also attended.

PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  Barbara Smith made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 13, 2013, meeting.  Barbara Reid seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

LIBRARIANS REPORT:  The library has received a bequest from the estate of Duane and Margaret Johnson in the amount of $74,000.  Renate Weimann has donated $500 for the library to purchase art books in memory of Margaret Johnson.

The building maintenance department has resumed cleaning the library each night. Jodi Smith will give an estimate of costs for the work when they are determined.

Kathy presented the latest schematic designs for the library addition and renovation.  The Board discussed their concerns and ideas for the developing plan.

ADJOURNMENT:  Barbara Smith made a motion to adjourn at 1:50.  Barbara Reid seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
