Library Board Meeting

MINUTES of the regular meeting of the Pitkin County Library Board of Trustees on April 2,2014.  The meeting was called to order at 12:09.

ROLL CALL:  Trustees present:  Barbara Reid, Barbara Smith, John Wilkinson, Jim Moran and Judi Harris.  Austine Stitt and Judy Wrigley were absent.  Also present were County Librarian, Kathy Chandler, Assistant Director Jocelyn Durrance, Facilities Manager Jodi Smith, past and present owner’s representatives John Keleher and Jim Curtis, Debe Nelson from the Finance Department and architect Pam Hopkins.

PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  Jim Moran made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 5, 2014, meeting.  Barbara Reid seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:  Kathy reported that the library had received a bequest of $3,942.60 from the estate of Louise B. Cunningham.

After a presentation by Jodi Smith and Debe Nelson, a motion was made by Barbara Reid to have county employees clean and maintain the building.  John Wilkinson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

The board agreed that Jodi Smith, on behalf of Pitkin County, would publish a request for quote for a paid fundraiser to help the library in fund raising efforts.

Pam Hopkins presented the latest schematic designs for the proposed addition including elevation designs.

ADJOURNMENT:  Jim Moran made a motion to adjourn at 2:14.  Judi Harris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
