Library Board Meeting

Next Meeting:  August 6, 2014 Noon Library Meeting Room

AMENDED MINUTES of the meeting of the Pitkin County Library Board of Trustees on July 16, 2014.  The meeting was called to order at 12:10.

ROLL CALL:  Trustees in attendance:  John Wilkinson, Barbara Smith, Jim Moran, Barbara Reid, Austine Stitt, Judy Wrigley and Judi Harris as well as County Librarian Kathy Chandler.  Also in attendance  were Assistant County Librarian, Jocelyn Durrance, Jodi Smith, Jim Curtis, John Kelleher, Pam Hopkins and Judy Clausen.

PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:  A  motion was made by Austine Stitt to approve the minutes of the Board meeting on July 2, 2014.  The motion was seconded by Judy Wrigley and passed unanimously.

REPORT BY JODI SMITH, COUNTY FACILITIES MANAGER:

The chiller for the library does not need to be replaced at this time.

The air quality monitoring units now located on the roof of the library should be removed by

September 1.

Replacement of the roof will begin the second week of August.

Pam Hopkins, architect, hopes to have the coordination of the architectural plans and all contractors and subcontractors by the end of July.

FUNDRAISING:  Judy Clausen has been working on documents detailing the fundraising plan and renovation and expansion project information.  Discussion was held about revisions and additions to those documents.  It was also decided to table   the review of the policy for naming opportunities and gift recognition until the August meeting.

ADJOURNMENT:  A motion was made by Austine Stitt to adjourn the meeting at 2:20.  The

motion was seconded by Barbara Smith and passed unanimously.
