Library Board Meeting

MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PITKIN COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD OF

TRUSTEES ON AUGUST 12, 2014.  The meeting was called to order at 9:05.

ROLL CALL:  Trustees in attendance:  John Wilkinson, Judy Wrigley, Barbara Reid, Barbara Smith, Jim Moran and Judi Harris. Also in attendance:  County Librarian Kathy Chandler, Assistant Librarian Jocelyn Durrance, Librarian Martha Durgy, Pam Hopkins, architect and Jodi Smith, Director of Facilities for Pitkin County.

PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.

NEW BUSINESS:  The Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) has awarded Pitkin County Library a $145,000 TRUE Pioneer Grant to support a variety of energy efficiency improvements including HVAC upgrades, enhanced roof insulation, LED lighting, day lighting controls, and an energy monitoring display kiosk.  The Board thanks Whitney Hopkins and her team for the successful application.

OLD BUSINESS:  Pam Hopkins presented ongoing revisions to the architectural plans for the addition and renovation of the library.  She asked the Board for input and ideas concerning signage, lighting, bathroom design and art placement.

ADJOURNMENT:  Barbara Reid made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:41.  John Wilkinson seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
