ROLL CALL: Trustees present: John Wilkinson, Judy Wrigley, Barbara Smith, Barbara Reid,

Austine Stitt, John Keleher and Judi Harris. Also present: County Librarian Kathy Chandler,

Jodi Smith, Dave Detwiler, and Molly Ireland.

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Austine Stitt and seconded by Judy

Wrigley to approve the minutes of the meeting on February 10, 2016. The motion passed

unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:

Construction update: Dave Detwiler reported that the Library will be able to begin to move

into the new building on April 11. The opening date will depend on the construction progress

made and the issuing of the certificate of occupancy by the City. Dave also presented the current

budget for the expansion and remodel. Jodi Smith reported on the need for repairs of the roof

and soffits of the old building.

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:

Café: Molly Ireland reported on a meeting with the City Community Development

Department where she found out it is not necessary to file an amended use application or go to

the City to ask permission to provide some light refreshments in the café area of the renovated

library. She will pursue possible vendors.

The Buddy Program has contacted the Library with a request that they be allowed to hang a

large work of art on the wall of the new Library. Although the Library supports the Buddy

Program as a community asset, the Board feels that the new building just does not have the wall

space available to accommodate a piece of art that size.

May 11, 2016

June 15, 2016

ADJOURNMENT: Austine Stitt moved that be meeting be adjourned at 1:35 p.m. The motion

was seconded by Barbara Smith and passed unanimously.

Respectfully submitted,

Judi Harris
