MINUTES of the regular meeting of the Pitkin County Library Board of Trustees on July 11, 2018. The meeting was called to order at 12:07.
ROLL CALL: Trustees present: John Keleher, John Wilkinson, Judy Wrigley, Barbara Smith, Barbara Reid, Austine Stitt, Judi Harris and alternates Elizabeth Nix and David Bentley. Also attending were Kathy Chandler and Tammy Benninger.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Austine Stitt and seconded by Judy Wrigley to approve the minutes of the meeting on June 6, 2018. The motion passed unanimously.
LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:
As Pitkin County moves into their new offices, they will discontinue use of the Dunaway Meeting Room and will remove their recording equipment. The Board asked Kathy to check into the purchasing of recording equipment by the Library.
A committee consisting of Austine Stitt, John Keleher, and Barbara Smith has been appointed to nominate officers for next year.
Tammy Benninger spoke to the Board about her duties as Children’s Librarian. She organizes and runs the children’s area including ordering and weeding the collection and recently rearranging the layout of the room. She is in charge of Baby Story Time which has become so successful it has outgrown its space since there are frequently more than 60 people in attendance. Tammy has suggested moving the program to the Community Meeting Room. She also organizes several other programs and has replaced older computers with new Ipads.

ADJOURNMENT: At 1:10 a motion was made by Judy Wrigley and seconded by Austine Stitt to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
