Library Board Minutes

Next Meeting:  August 26, 2015 Noon Building Maintenance Dept.

MINUTES  of the regular meeting of the Pitkin County Library Board of Trustees on August  12, 2015.  The meeting was called to order at 12:05 p.m.

ROLL CALL:  Trustees present:  Barbara Reid, John Wilkinson, Barbara Smith, Austine Stitt, Judy Wrigley and Judi Harris.  Also attending were County Librarian Kathy Chandler, Pitkin County Facilities Manager Jodi Smith and Owner’s Representative Dave Detwiler.

PUBLIC COMMENT:  There was no public comment.

CONSTRUCTION AND FINANCIAL UPDATE:  Dave Detwiler and Jodi Smith gave a construction and financial update.  The County Commissioners have agreed to transfer $1,000,000 from the county general fund to make the total budget for the library addition and renovation $14,338,480.  The Board has not yet received the final costs on the renovation of the interior of the library but the budget contains $2,500,00   for that renovation including the furniture.

F C I has advised Jodi Smith that their timeline for completion of the project has been revised to May 30.

Kathy Chandler presented the latest floor plan for the renovation and detailed a few changes in the layout of the shelving and the arrangement of the furniture.

It was decided that the Board would meet for the next three weeks on Wednesday at 12:15 for a telephone conference with the interior designer.  The meeting will be held in the offices of County Building Maintenance.

ADJOURNMENT:  A motion was made by Austine Stitt and seconded by Barbara Smith to adjourn the meeting at 2:01.  The motion passed unanimously.
