MINUTES of the regular meeting of the PItkin County Library Board of Trustees on January 13,

2021. The meeting was called to order at 12:02 p.m.

ROLL CALL:  Trustees present: John Wilkinson and  Barbara Smith. Also attending were Kathy

Chandler, Susan Keenan, and Nathalie Crick. Judy Wrigley, Barbara Reid, Austine Stitt, John

Keleher, Judi Harris, and alternate Elizabeth Nix attended via Zoom. 

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: A motion was made by Austine Stitt and seconded by Barbara

Smith to approve the Minutes of the Meeting on November 11, 2020. The motion was passed

unanimously.

TRUSTEE COMMENTS: None

OLD BUSINESS: The Policy Revision of Collection Development was discussed and will be

presented at the next Board meeting for its Second Reading. 

NEW BUSINESS: Susan Keenan announced she will be retiring in April after almost 38 years of

service. She will be sorely missed as she did an outstanding job as Children’s Librarian and

Assistant Director. 

A motion was made by Barbara Reid and seconded by Judy Wrigley to designate the posting

place for Meeting Agendas to be in the front window or front display case of the building. The

motion was passed unanimously. 

 A discussion ensued regarding the Phased Service Levels due to COVID-19. The Board and

Library Staff are very concerned about keeping the Staff and General Public safe during the

escalating numbers of COVID cases in Pitkin County. Pitkin County Library will follow the

Guidelines of the Pitkin County Board of Commissioners and Public Health Department in

determining levels of service. As of now we will follow the Red Level guidelines.  Some Library

Staff will be available, as they were earlier, to help the City and County with contract tracing.

ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made by Judy Wrigley and seconded by Judi Harris to adjourn

the meeting at 11:45 a.m.
