MINUTES of the regular meeting of the Pitkin County Library Board of Trustees on April 13,
2022. The meeting was called to order at 12:11 PM.
ROLL CALL: Trustees present: John Wilkinson, Ashley Connolly, Barbara Reid, Austine Stitt. Staff members: Kathy Chandler.
PUBLIC COMMENT: none
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Barbara Reid moved to approve the meeting minutes of March 13,
2022. Austine Stitt seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
LIBRARIANS REPORT: Kathy asked if the Board would consider making a donation to
Thunder River Theater Company as a back payment for all their recording support for Literature
out Loud. Barbara Reid motioned to donate $3,000, Austine seconded and the motion passed
unanimously.
Anna Lookabill Scott likely will be officially approved as our newest alternate Board member.
We will soon need one more alternate member. Judy Wrigley will be resigning due to a change
in address.
Snowmass Village Station - Public Outreach sessions April 21 4:30-6 and April 22 12-1:30. The
Board of Trustees will hold a special Board meeting on Thursday, April 21 at noon to meet with
library consultant Jamie LaRue. Discussion regarding requirements for square footage and
library services offered as well as demand based on citizen feedback.
OLD BUSINESS: Projector and Sound system: Earliest projector will arrive is early May.
NEW BUSINESS: Discussion of library/City Hall courtyard. Barbara encouraged Trustees to
continue to provide feedback to the City encouraging them to work to make it a more usable
public plaza.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: Board motioned to move into Executive Session from 1:05-1:15 to
discuss wage adjustment for County Librarian. The Board closed the Executive Session, making
seconding and approving a motion to do so, and then a motion was made, seconded and
approved to recommend a wage adjustment to the County for the County Librarian’s salary.
FUTURE MEETING DATES: April 21, May 11, June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct 12,
Nov. 9. Library volunteer holiday potluck dinner: December 4 th .
ADJOURNMENT: A motion was made at 1:25 to adjourn the meeting and passed unanimously.
