Today's bikes are designed to go places they probably shouldn't. Which usually isn't a problem with the appropriate care and maintenance.

First, clean it- what parts get the soap and water, which the degreaser. 
 

Second, check for damage- tires that may have cuts, brakes that may need attention, parts that may come loose. 
 

Third, readjust and lube- bringing it back to perfect for the next imminent thrashing
