Description

*Please note this tour is only open to those who participate in the Halloween Book Club discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 27*

Uncover tales from the grave of Aspen’s oldest burial ground.  A guided walk with Dean’s Aspen Tours through Aspen’s first burial ground, the Ute Cemetery, tells the story of the pioneers of “Ute City.” Hear of the lonely buffalo soldier and toast to the Scotsman. This entertaining, educational, and reflective tour of an Aspen cemetery brings you to a unique and almost forgotten spot in Aspen’s history off the beaten path.

Attendees are responsible for getting to and from the Ute Cemetery. We'll meet a few minutes prior to tour start at the small brick entrance monument of the Ute Cemetery on Ute Ave. across from the Ute Trail. Dress warmer then anticipated as it always gets colder in the shadow of the mountain and wear footwear suitable for hilly rutted paths. If threat of rain/snow, bring along jackets or umbrellas.
