Christopher Edward Nolan is a British and American filmmaker. Known for his Hollywood blockbusters with complex storytelling, Nolan is considered a leading filmmaker of the 21st century. His films have grossed more than $6 billion worldwide. His filmography includes what is considered the best Batman Trilogy, and Interstellar has achieved cult status in particular for its haunting soundtrack. We’re pleased to present this “Weekend with Nolan,” including a screening of his newest film, Oppenheimer (2023), a major contender for many Academy Awards, including Best Actor (Cillian Murphy), Best Director, and Best Picture.
A 2014 epic, Interstellar stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, Michael Caine, and Matt Damon. Set in a dystopian future where humanity is embroiled in catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for humankind.
