Being an informed voter is an important but difficult task. We have provided some resources for looking up candidates and ballot measures and links to the new voter precinct maps. Below you will also find information on where to vote or drop off your ballot.

Next Election

General Election 2024: Tuesday, November 5th

Voter service and polling centers are open 7:00am - 7:00pm on Election Day (Tuesday, November 5, 2024).

Ballots are mailed to all registered voters between October 11 and October 18, 2024.

Ballot Information Booklet

The blue book is now available! The 2024 State Ballot Information Booklet provides voters with text, title, and impartial analysis of each initiated or referred constitutional amendment, law, or question on the most current ballot.

A copy is sent to your mailing address. Extra copies are available for free at the library. Online copies are available in English, Spanish, and as an audio book.

Colorado General Assembly

This website allows you to search current representatives, bills, and initiatives. Look up any current representative at the state level and information about bills they’ve sponsored, committee assignments, and more. Additionally, you can research any bills that have been introduced concerning the state of Colorado and check on their status.

Ballotpedia

Ballotpedia is a great resource for looking up potential representatives and ballot measures. Use the search bar at the top to look up any candidate or measure on the ballot. Find basic information and links to official websites and campaign websites.

I Will Vote

This website helps individuals check their voting registration status, states where to vote or drop-off ballots, and provides information which (if any) personal identification cards are needed to vote.

Mesa County Libraries has created a great information resource page for elections and voting. This webpage includes books recommendations, additional information websites for educational voting, and information for Mesa County voting.

Voting tips

  • A “no” vote on a measure or initiative maintains current Colorado Law and generally means no change will take place regarding that issue.
  • Voting for an “incumbent” means voting for the person currently in that position and generally no change will take place regarding that government position.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8th. Remember to bring a valid photo ID to voting locations. Most voting locations are open 7am - 7pm on Election Day.

Ballot Drop Off Locations

If you are mailing your ballot to the county clerk and recorder, you must send it in before the due date as it has to arrive on or before the due date. It is recommended that citizens use ballot drop off locations when possible.
