Early STEM Exploration

Early STEM Exploration will offer families with young children an opportunity to explore the wonders of STEM at an early age.

This critical period in a child's life is important for the development of many successful learning skills. A foundation of hands-on science exploration early in life can lead to a lifetime of discovery and confidence. This program provides little ones with a curricular framework which engages their natural spirit of excitement to learn about the world around them.

For ages 1-5. Meet in the Dunaway Community Room.

This program is presented in partnership with Aspen Science Center and is led by Addison Hobbs.

Addison Hobbs, ASC Educator and 2023 Summer of Science Coordinator, is a 2020 graduate of Colorado State University, Fort Collins, in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, with a minor in Spanish. After falling in love with Chemistry in high school, Addison decided to pursue an education in STEM and she never looked back. Upon moving to the Roaring Fork Valley, she started with the ASC part-time, honing in on her teaching skills by delivering the down-valley programming from Glenwood Springs to Parachute. Now full-time, Addison develops and delivers a range of programming on behalf of the ASC for all ages. Addison’s creativity and aptitude for caregiving has naturally led her to teaching. Between her passion for learning and working with kids, she has found her niche in STEM education and outreach. When she is not teaching or buried in a book, Addison can be found skiing, painting, hiking with her dog Donut, or cooking!
