The goal of Classics Book Club is to finally tackle books that we should have read in high school or college but didn't, or that we have always been curious about or intimidated by, but never tried to read.

With library resources, patrons have access to a variety of academic journals and scholarly information about Classics authors and their publications, which we will get the opportunity to utilize as a group to better our understanding of more difficult concepts or different eras presented in the stories we read.

This club encourages drop-ins from patrons who have previously read any of the texts, but is primarily meant to encourage reading new and challenging work together in a non-judgemental environment.

Classics Book Club is open to all ages, reading levels, and reading preferences. Please come prepared to discuss the texts and supplementary reading provided at the start of the month. We will meet bi-monthly. View upcoming themes and books on our event calendar.

Please register here to get on the mailing list for book pick-up, resources, and further information about Classics Book Club meetings.

It is essential that all individuals have the opportunity to see themselves represented in the literature they read. However, this can be a challenge for LGBTQ+ teens. We aim to establish a safe space for the LGBTQ+ youth and their supporters to congregate and connect over LGBTQ+ literature in a positive way. Once a month, we will select a book authored by an LGBTQ+ writer or featuring LGBTQ+ characters. We encourage open and respectful dialogue among all of our participants.

Open to ages 14-18.

Welcome to The Lit Lounge, a dynamic book club inspired by the thought-provoking works that were nominated and considered for the Aspen Words Literary Prize. This book club meets every 3rd Tuesday at 5:00pm-6:00pm.

Each month, we dive into exceptional fiction that illuminates critical social issues, challenges perspectives, and fosters meaningful conversations. Our selections span diverse voices and genres, exploring themes like justice, identity, resilience, and the human experience so that we can delve into stories that not only captivate with their artistry but also ignite discussions about the world we share. Whether you’re a lifelong book lover or someone looking to expand your literary horizons, The Lit Lounge is a space for readers who value the power of fiction to inspire change, connect communities, and spark new ideas.

The intention of this group is to gather and discuss great books. Each month, you are encouraged to select the book you’re most interested in from the wide world of Aspen Words Literary Prize nominees and then come together to discuss, share insights, and encourage fellow readers.
