The Pitkin County Library is hosting a Dementia Education presentation: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia and Memory Loss. Topics such as communicating with people with dementia, reducing agitation and anxiety with people with dementia will be discussed. 

The guest speaker is Amelia Shaffer, Area Director of Memory Care, Ascent Living Communities. Amelia worked at the Alzheimer’s Association for 24 years in various roles, most recently serving as executive director of the Colorado Chapter.

Event is held in the Dunaway Community Meeting Room.
