Explore. Learn. Understand. (Every day of the year).
This event is for LGBTQIA+ Pride Month which takes place every June. The purpose of this event is to join hundreds of libraries across the nation in a celebration of authors and books that reflect the LGBTQIA+ experience and to make our patrons aware of the resources and stories PCL has for and about LGBTQIA+ people. We will be joining ALA in celebrating what they call “Rainbow Book Month” and have been celebrating nationally since 2015. In alignment with the library's mission to inspire lifelong learning, "Rainbow Book Month" is an opportunity to transform lives through fostering community, understanding and access to the very best in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, genderqueer, queer, intersex, agender, and asexual literature. We will continue to Celebrate Pride Month and "Rainbow Book Month" every month of the year and encourage you to explore, learn, and understand continuously.
