Dive into a Book
The Library has thousands of books to borrow and read! Books are available as physical items or as eBooks and/or audiobooks on Hoopla or Overdrive/Libby. Playaways and books on CD are another way to listen to audiobooks. Playaways are amazing. Plug in headphones and start listening!
If the Pitkin County Library does not have an item available, place it on hold it through the catolog and another library will send it to a pickup spot to be borrowed. Holds typically take five to ten days to arrive.
Books can be checked out for three weeks with a library card. If extra time is needed to finish, most books can be renewed for another three weeks. Talk to a Librarian to get a library card! The process is easy, fast, and free.

Young Adult Book Recommendations from Librarians
Read Wider
Our Read Wider program encourages kids, teens, and adults to read own voices stories, explore movies and music, and learn more about others' experiences. Each month we will provide downloadable lists of books, movies, music, and online resources along with a resource tracker for reading wider. These lists are specially curated each month by our collection librarians. They put great effort into providing the best resources that highlight important persons, authors, and stories both past and current. See the lists!
